About this project

BlackSourced.com is a curated news platform built from trusted sources to highlight stories impacting Black communities, with a clear focus on who is affected, what's happening, and why it matters.

I created this to help us stay informed without burnout and navigate news with clarity. Summaries are generated with the help of AI and are reviewed for clarity and accuracy. The goal is to highlight who is affected, what is happening, why it matters, and what is next. This project does not replace original reporting. It increases access and visibility.

It started as a personal attempt to cut through the noise and follow the news, policies, and community stories without wading through popups, paywalls, ads, or one-sided reporting that often erases who is truly affected. I wanted to better understand what was happening in my own community, and now it helps my friends and family too. I prioritize Black owned and led media platforms to center the voices closest to the issues.

Each summary is reviewed to stay clear, factual, and aligned with the original reporting. Every story links back to the original source for full context and credit. This project is growing slowly and intentionally. If you have feedback, request a location, or suggestions and want to connect,

Who's behind this?

This project is built and maintained by a warrior, a Black woman, a designer, a coder working to create something grounded, useful, and respectful. I wanted a better way to stay informed, with less noise and more clarity.

If this work is helping you or feels meaningful, you can support it. Even small contributions help cover costs, keep the site running, and give more time to grow it.
