CAISO, a Trinidad and Tobago-based civil society organization, released its 2024 Insights from Wholeness and Justice Report highlighting significant challenges faced by the local LGBTQ+ community. The report identifies domestic violence (44%), harassment and assault (25%), and employment issues (9%) as the most common problems reported by those using CAISO's services. Many victims avoid seeking legal redress due to economic concerns, migration status issues, or lack of confidence in protective systems.
