Man kills seven of his children, and an eighth child, in Louisiana mass shooting

A father, identified as Shamar Elkins, killed eight children—seven of his own and one cousin—in a domestic violence incident in Shreveport, Louisiana, early Sunday morning. The attack occurred across multiple locations, beginning around 5:00 AM, and also left two adult women, including the children's mother, in critical condition, while a ninth child escaped by jumping from the roof. According to family members, Elkins had been distraught over an impending divorce and separation from his wife, with a court appearance scheduled for the following day.
