The American Civil Liberties Union released a report on July 20 examining immigration enforcement activities across eight states during the first year of President Trump's second term, finding significant civil rights violations. The report, titled "Agents of Chaos and Cruelty," analyzed over 1,200 immigration enforcement incidents and identified misconduct in more than 400 cases, including excessive force, racial profiling, and intimidation by federal and local law enforcement. In California alone, the report documented 528 instances of law enforcement misconduct, including physical violence and weapon use, as well as four cases involving lethal force.
