The Trump administration's Department of the Interior has negotiated a $1. 2 billion settlement with German energy company RWE to abandon its offshore wind projects in the United States. Under the agreement, RWE will relinquish leases off the California and Louisiana coasts and in the New York Bight, redirecting $900 million toward a liquefied natural gas export terminal in Louisiana instead.
