New Apartment Complex ‘The Garvey’ Proposed for Detroit’s West Side 

A Detroit-based development firm called Promised Land Realty, co-owned by Trevor Sarter, has revealed plans for "The Garvey," a new apartment building to be constructed at the intersection of Dexter Boulevard and Davison Avenue on Detroit's west side. The project takes its name from both civil rights leader Marcus Garvey and Sarter's grandfather, Marcus Garvey Woodson, who previously worked as a chief land appraiser for the city. The development has received approval from the Detroit Building Authority and has secured a retail partnership with Neighborhood Grocery.
