The University of Michigan terminated head football coach Sherrone Moore immediately after an investigation uncovered evidence of an inappropriate relationship with a staff member, violating university policy. On the same day as his dismissal, Moore was arrested by local police in connection with an alleged assault incident and remained in custody through Thursday. The 39-year-old coach, who was in his second year leading the team, will be replaced by associate head coach Biff Poggi just days before Michigan's scheduled bowl game against Texas.
